Free 20 Minute Consultation
An integral part of therapy is to ensure that you and your therapist are a good match. We offer a free in person or over the phone 20 minute consultation to ensure that it is a good fit. This will be the time to ask questions and discuss a little about what you would like to address in therapy. When you call to book an appointment please identify if you would like the 20 min free consultation or a regular appointment.
What to Expect in the First Therapy/Counselling Session
The first session is usually 50-60 minutes. During this initial counselling session, we will review your background, your present circumstances, and the problems you are currently experiencing. We may ask about topics such as your family background, medical history, current relationships, and specific psychological symptoms that you may be experiencing. You will have the opportunity to share any other information you feel is important, and to ask any questions you may have. Together, we will identify your hopes and/or goals for therapy and develop and treatment plan in order to help you achieve the life you want to live. We will ensure that you feel respected and in order to build a therapeutic partnership.
