It takes away your ability to get daily tasks done and takes you away from enjoying being around your friends and family. Many will want to stay in bed and start to avoid things they have to do.

Treatment for Depression
Depression is treatable and you can learn how to manage your depressive symptoms or get back to your old self. Psychotherapy is proven to be helpful for depressive symptoms. Specifically, Cognitive Behaviroural Therapy (CBT) has been shown to be quite effective for depression. CBT looks at how we can start changing our thought and behavioural patterns to influence how we feel. Some people do require a combination of medications and CBT to overcome their symptoms of depression. I have been utilizing cognitive behaviroural therapy for many years and have observed the benefits for many individuals.
