True Living Community & Resources
Supporting Okotoks, High River and the Foothills through care, connection, and giving back.
At True Living Counselling & Coaching, community is at the heart of what we do. Beyond providing counselling and psychological assessment services in Okotoks, High River and Online throughout Canada, we strive to support the Okotoks and Foothills community through acts of giving, local sponsorships, and meaningful initiatives that make a meaningful difference.
Our Community Initiatives in Okotoks & Foothills:
- Volunteer wirth Okotoks Optimist Club: We are members of the service club and have been working on bringing Lemonade Day back to Okotoks for June 2026. The Okotoks Optimist Club works to bring out the best in youth, the community, and its members.
- Yearly Sponsor Okotoks Soap Box Derby: The Okotoks Soap Box Derby, organized by the Rotary Club of Okotoks, is a fun, family-friendly event where kids design, build, and race their own gravity-powered soap box cars. The derby encourages creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving, while promoting community involvement and hands-on learning for youth in Okotoks and the surrounding Foothills.
- Yearly Sponsors Dinner for a Dog: is a local Okotoks initiative that raises funds to provide trained service dogs for veterans. These service dogs offer vital emotional support, companionship, and assistance to veterans coping with physical injuries or PTSD. The event brings the community together for an evening of good food, connection, and giving back all in support of those who’ve served our country.
- My City Care Okotoks: Every year we volunteer, collect toys and donate toys for their Shop of Wonders. My City Care is local nonprofit organization devoted to supporting families, youth, and individuals facing difficult seasons. They operate with compassion and dignity to provide assistance such as food hampers, school supplies, formal attire for graduations, and free gift events for children. Key programs include Stuff the Bus, The Cinderella Project, and Shop of Wonders.
- Yearly Turkey Dinner Giveaway: True Living Counselling & Coaching hosts a Turkey Dinner Giveaway in Okotoks and the Foothills, offering full holiday meals to families and veterans who could use extra support. Our goal is to share gratitude, build connection, and make the season a little brighter for those in our community.
- Yearly Veterans Foodbank Drive: We collect and donate to the veterans foodbank over the holidays to support our veterans.
WindPhone in Okotoks
As part of our team’s commitment to supporting our community we collaborated with the Town of Okotoks on a special project called The Wind Phone. This beautiful, reflective space, at Laudan Park in Okotoks, is designed for people who are grieving a loved one. It offers a quiet place to “speak” to the person you miss, share memories, release emotions, or simply sit with your feelings.
A windphone is a simple, unconnected phone where people can speak words left unsaid to those they have lost. For many, grief lives in the things we never got to say. The windphone offers a gentle way to express those thoughts, to speak into the open air, and to feel a sense of release without judgment or expectation.
